Employees incur both Federal and State level tax. Federal Income Tax operates on a sliding scale with different brackets for single or married filers. State Income Tax varies with Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming not requiring State Income Tax at all.
The USA is among very few nations that offers zero paid vacation entitlement. Any paid vacation supplied to an employee is entirely discretionary and up to the employer. Even National Holidays do not oblige the employer to supply paid leave.
